Rapid Software Prototyping Case Study

Designed and implemented software for a prototype Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) receive ground station.

The initial development was time constrained because of the need to make the prototype available for marketing opportunities and consequently employed rapid prototyping design techniques; this resulted in the delivery of the prototype software in under twelve week period (2700 SLOC/pm). This led to successful trials of the equipment in the USA (FAA), Canada, UK (NATS), Germany (DFS), Ireland (EUROCONTROL, Irish CAA) and Singapore.
